I’m just back from another inspirational trip to Chennai and Pondicherry in Tamil Nadu, India.

Amazing work

This ikat weave sari was on display in the sari room at one of my favourite Chennai shops: Kalpa Druma. The amount of work in this piece of art is amazing. I’ve written about ikat briefly before but it’s when the individual threads are dyed before weaving them together to produce the pattern in the fabric.

I should have bought it but I don’t need another sari 🙂
