Top Drawer – what a nice trade show

Looking forward to 2012

The ‘Top Drawer‘ trade show, organised by Clarion Events, has to be one of my favourite exhibitions of the year. This show occurs twice a year in London, in September and in January. This January, I wondered how up-beat my stockists would be…..did they have a good 2011 and Christmas selling period or was it jolly hard work?

For most, jolly hard work was a pretty good description of 2011, so let’s look forward to 2012!

Brighten up January

At this weeks event I met customers (shops who stock my bags) both old and new. Long established traders are using this quiet period to refurbish and re-assess their businesses to come up with a new look to excite their customers in 2012. My new stockists were pleased to have found a supplier with no minimum order, who can deliver great new bright coloured bags NOW, to liven up the selection in their store.

It has been a year now since I launched my new leather shopper designs and with 10 colours to choose from, all my stockists report that these are winners with them too. My other fast sellers at this show were the Scottish tweed bags. Our limited edition Johnstons of Elgin tweed range sold out on the second day!

Back in the office, we are getting all the orders ready to send out. I love seeing the selection that different shops have made and I wonder how they will display our designs alongside all the other things they sell.

New Stockists

If you’re in Guernsey, Canterbury or Edinburgh, Blandford, Harpenden or Brighten, you will soon find my designs in another shop near you!
