September 1st Smoothie

It’s a new month, the summer parties are over, now it’s time to get fit and healthy for autumn.

I’ve been drinking summer berry smoothies all season, so now I thought I’d try and get back into a few green ones too.

September 1st Smoothie 610

This one’s nice and refreshing with a little ‘zing’ from the rocket in my baby leaf salad.

Recipe:

1 small cucumber or 1/3 large one (peeled)

2 oranges peeled and pitted

2 ice cubes

A handful of baby salad leaves

Put all ingredients into a blender or liquidiser and whizz for a couple of minutes. Drink immediately. Makes enough for 2.

Note: If you leave the skin on the cucumber it makes it a bit more green in colour. I would have added some natural yoghurt but I’d run out.
