Over the last few weeks I have received some customer feedback about my designs. The customers who contacted me did so after seeing a tweet or 2 or after reading my recent blog posts about my handbag reviews.

I love these comments and ideas, it’s like having a virtual brainstorming session where I get to hear all your suggestions for new designs and ideas for bags that you couldn’t live without!

Here are a couple of my favourites – and ones that I am acting on right away!

I received a long email from a customer who already has 3 of these bags in different colours! While she loves them all, she has decided that she could do with something similar but with a long strap so the bag can be worn across the body and ‘hands free’.

Now I like a challenge and this is one…..because I sort of presume that one of the reasons the customer likes (and has 3 of these bags) is the low price for such a big bag! So, I’m in design mode on this one and working hard with my factory to try and make an equally useful and large bag but with the extra leather in it that a long shoulder strap will require and… hopefully a recession beating price too! Watch this space ;o)

The second comment relates partly to the never ending debate about laptop bags! We all want one that fulfills one or more of the following criteria:

a) it doesn’t look like a laptop bag

b) fits lots of other stuff in it too

c) is good for travel

So, while I am working on a design for an actual laptop bag or business bag, I am also working on a new travel bag design with laptop padding inside. When I read one customer’s feedback about travel bag difficulties: ‘Only 1 hand luggage bag allowed, need laptop bag but need to take lots of other stuff too – particularly on a long haul flight’, I decided that I need the same bag as she does! So this one is in the design process too!
