Why I’m a Fan of Contactless Cards

Angela Rippon was on the telly this morning, reporting on the rise of contactless payment cards and the fraud scares that are inevitably following them around.

But you don’t need to worry at all as long as the wallet where you keep your cards has signal blocking technology, as in my Bertie and Annie purses.

If you missed the programme I’d say it’s worth watching on catch up if you can as it explains the technology and the risks people run on a daily basis.

Angela’s solution to avoiding card detail theft is simply not to use one (or even carry one in your purse). But I think that the technology is just so easy and speedy to use that I confess, I’m a fan.

Luckily I carry my cards in my Annie purse, so criminals trying to steal my card details won’t get very far.

If you’re now worried about your own cards, make sure you choose a purse with a signal blocking liner so that you have peace of mind next time you’re out shopping.

Readers of this post can get a special 20% off an Annie or Bertie purse with voucher code: CardSafe. Each design comes in a choice of antique black, antique brown, hot pink or blue.

Discount code valid until 30th September, only on my website.

Incredible though it is at how innovative criminals can be with technology, good to have the reassurance that our stuff is safe in your purse. I’m a fan of technology and the spread of contactless cards is only going to increase so it makes sense to protect yourself. Seems like you’re ahead of the market Shona.

Thanks Sherry. Yes, I heard about it a few years ago. A friend had her card details stolen in Dubai so I started looking into what could be incorporated into my designs to combat these thieves.
Going forward, it will be inside all my purses and wallets.
