This is my first real design for a ‘man bag’. I designed it with a busy creative man in mind, someone a bit like my photographer brother, Craig www.craigeaston.com . He is always rushing around to meetings and events and he often carries a copy of his latest book, paperwork, brochures, iPad etc. When he jumps out his car to go to an appointment he just needs to grab this one bag (and his camera of course) and he’s got everything he needs.
Canvas & Leather mix
I chose to use a heavy weave cotton canvas for this design and in order to get the right feel I had all the fabric stonewashed. This resulted in a very soft feel but very hard wearing & rugged look. I chose a dark brown grainy leather for the trim and a thick brown cotton drill for the lining.
Special features (which may be new to the man who chooses this bag) include a clip inside for attaching your keys, lots of zipped pockets for secure storage, a phone/blackberry pocket and a very long strap so that even the largest man can wear it with style across the body! Of course ladies may like the design too! I use one myself when travelling as its spacious and ‘hands free’. More views and details can be seen here: www.eastondesignstudio.com
